Hugh's Poem

A tribute to a golfer
Who we all knew and loved.

Who was called away too early
For his tee time up above.

Why God called him early
We will never understand

But if he was looking for a fourth
there is no better man.

He even played with Arnie once
And I am sure the King would say
“this guy made that round a pretty special day”.

He always had a group to play with
Cause we loved to play with Pat.
He usually took our money
But we could live with that.

He loved to play the game
And had that great, great touch.
Although distance challenged
It didn’t hurt him much.

He had the best short game
I think I’ve ever seen
From the middle of the fairway
To right around the green.

He was always up and down in two
And when you thought you had him
Is just when he came through.

So these old greens and fairways
He will walk with us no more
But I bet he is gonna love what
Heaven has in store.
